Personal Profile

Describe your personality and character: I am very kind hearted and open minded. I am a very empathetic person and love to help others. I am an even tempered person-very calm and laid back.

How do you think others would describe you?
Others would describe me as being very independent and a self starter. They would say that I am the kindest person they probably know and that I am very easy going and easy to talk to.

What would you say is your strongest personal trait and why?
My strongest trait would be my ability to self start and take the lead in everything I do. I say this because in school when we are in groups, I am always the person to be in charge of everything. This is the same at work as well.

What is your favorite sport?
My favorite sport is basketball.
Describe your own athletic ability/skills:
I grew up playing basketball. I played in middle school for two years and in high school for three. I was team captain for two years in high school. My position was point guard.

What is your favorite type of music?
My favorite types of music vary. I listen to R&B, pop, and alternative rock.
Why is this your favorite type of music? Whatever mood I am in is what determines what I listen to.

Describe any other special talents, skills, hobbies or interests you may have: I enjoy working on computers, especially web page design. I also like scrapbooking.

What is your favorite book? “A New Earth” by Eckhart Tolle
Why? I enjoyed reading the book because it helped me to see the world in a whole new light and meaning.

What is your favorite movie? “What Makes a Family”, a Lifetime movie
Why? It’s an alternative parenting movie that was able to portray real life issues that many homosexuals deal with when becoming parents. I felt like the producer did a very good job showing this.

Have you had any unique travel experiences that you feel have helped shape your way of thinking and/or the way you live your life?
Not yet, but I would like to travel to South Africa to be able to see a different part of the world and see different ethnic backgrounds and cultures. I would love to be able to see different backgrounds and cultures, to be able to see the environment, the land, and the people who live there and the way they live.

Have you had any unique experiences with volunteer work? I volunteered at a homeless shelter near Christmas time to help give out food baskets and clothing to women and their children who were less fortunate. It helped me to realize how many children are actually living in poverty. It touched my heart deeply and ever since that time, I take my kids shopping to make a holiday food/gift basket to donate to a less fortunate family so that they can have a better Christmas.

If you were given enough funds to spend one year of your life to engage in any recreational, political, religious/spiritual, or other endeavor of particular importance to you, what would you choose to do? I would use the funds to open up a non-profit organization to provide daycare/pre-school for children of homeless families. This way, parents would be able to go to school or find work, which will enable them to get back on their feet. The children would have somewhere safe to be taken care of during the day and would be well taken care of and fed. I would do this because I have seen first hand at different homeless shelters how many parents struggle to do better but cannot because they do not have money to send their children to a childcare facility.

Philosophies and Thoughts

What is your philosophy on life? I feel that people should live their life for the present moment and not the past or the future. So many people are stuck on what has happened to them in the past or fear what might happen in the future that they let the present pass them by. Life is very short so people should live every day like it is their last and be happy and good spirited.

How did you come to have this philosophy on life? Reading the book “A New Earth” has actually enlightened me on many aspects of life that I had never thought about. Another big influence was the passing of one of my close friends.

What is your ultimate goal and ambition in life? My ultimate goal is to graduate from a university and have the credentials to work with children with disabilities. I would also like to adopt a child from South Africa and give him/her a better life here in the US and instill the same values and morals that I have been raised with. In addition, I would like to help a family who cannot conceive by giving them the gift of a child through egg donation or surrogacy.

How do you plan on achieving this goal? I plan on doing this by staying in school and continuing until I have graduated. Once I am finished with my studies and have bought my first home, I will then focus on adopting an orphan from South Africa. I have already taken the steps to helping a family by contacting The Donor Egg Bank to begin the process of egg donation.

Why do you want to be an egg donor? I have been fortunate enough to easily conceive and have experienced pregnancy and parenthood. It is the most wonderful aspect of life to me. I understand that there are people out there who wish to experience the same but cannot, for whatever reason. I put myself in their shoes and can imagine what they may be going through. If my donating eggs can give them the baby they are wishing for and change their lives for the better, than I will help the best way I possibly can.

What do you think egg donation means to potential recipients? I believe it means giving them a family and bringing joy and happiness to their lives. It gives them a chance to raise and instill their own moral values into their own child to pass on for generations. It gives them hope and meaning to life.

What are your thoughts on egg donation as a fertility option? I think egg donation is a wonderful fertility option. It opens up new paths to parenthood.
