Have you had any unique travel experiences that you feel have helped shape your way of thinking and/or the way you live your life?
One summer I went to the poorer areas of Mexico on a mission trip. It was very eye opening yet heart warming for me. It really made me thankful for all that I have here in the States and I try not to take anything for granted. I want to make helping others a priority in my life. What I see as useless could mean the world to someone else and lending a hand can make the biggest difference in one’s life.
Have you had any unique educational experiences? I pretty much attended public schools all of my life except when I was in preschool. Preschool, as long ago as it was, was a very fun time for me. I remember being the life of the party. I made people laugh and genuinely happy. I was voted best dancer and most ambitious during my time there.
Have you had any unique experiences with volunteer work? I used to volunteer at an animal shelter and it was one of the best jobs I have ever had. Even though it was a lot of dirty work such as washing dishes, doing laundry, and cleaning the cages, it was also very rewarding. I love to work with animals and it is much more fruitful when they are animals in need.
If you were given enough funds to spend one year of your life to engage in any recreational, political, religious/spiritual, or other endeavor of particular importance to you, what would you choose to do? I would definitely use it to open a school in a third world, poverty-stricken country. I believe that a lack of an education is a big part of why many people stay in poverty as they grow up. Something as simple as an education can change the way they see and live life. I would want to help those who are not in the position to help themselves and be able to give them something that is life-lasting, and I believe that education is just that. |
