Describe your personality and character: I am a very outgoing, fun loving, adventurous person who loves to travel, meet new people and try new things.
How do you think others would describe you? Vivacious, big-hearted, caring to a fault, honest and fun.
What would you say is your strongest personal trait and why? My caring and affectionate ways because it allows me to always root for the underdog and care for everyone, regardless of status.
What is your favorite sport? Basketball
Describe your own athletic ability/skills: I was an All-Star in basketball and softball and qualified for State in both sports.
What is your favorite type of music? R & B, but I love all kinds of music.
Why is this your favorite type of music? Because the beat and the words speak to my soul.
Describe your own musical abilities/skills: I can play the piano-read notes and play by ear. I’ve been playing since I was five.
Describe any other special talents, skills, hobbies or interests you may have: I love to read and I really love to cook.
What is your favorite book? A Raisin in the Sun
Why? It portrays struggle, poverty and the strength to overcome it all.
What is your favorite movie? The Color Purple
Why? It tells a wonderful story of triumph over tremendous odds.
Describe your own artistic abilities/skills: I’m not much in the artistic department!
Do you speak any foreign languages? Spanish
Have you had any unique travel experiences that you feel have helped shape your way of thinking and/or the way you live your life? Not yet, but I would love to go to Italy and explore the culture, the art and the food.
Have you had any unique educational experiences? I have had the privilege to serve my country for 3 years with the U.S. Army. The lessons I learned shaped my life.
Have you had any unique experiences with volunteer work? I volunteer at a literacy program. It’s amazing how such a basic skill such as reading can change someone’s life.
If you were given enough funds to spend one year of your life to engage in any recreational, political, religious/spiritual, or other endeavor of particular importance to you, what would you choose to do? I would backpack through Europe. The culture is fascinating to me. |
